Comments:

Jewett (1953:60) states only reported nesting in WA is Brook Lake where Dawson (1909:880) observed a colony of 50 nests on 31 May 1905. Jewett (1953:62) states many times when Brown (Brown, Dawson 1909:880) noted black terns driving grebes from nests, pushed eggs aside, and laid its own eggs in the nest. This record was also cited in Gary Ivey's Non-game Waterbird Atlas database but estimates adult breeders at 100 based on the number of nests counted X 2. Entered that since there was no adult count.
