Statement:
Ms. Mason. Senator McClure, I am Marjorie Mason, a grandmother and retired nurse and veteran of the Second World War and a resident of Boundary County for the past 10 years. Last summer I had the unique experience to spend 3 days and nights riding horseback along the trails of Long Canyon. I'm not a backpacker or a hiker. But I was so stimulated and excited with my ride that I would like to be able to walk through the awesome wilderness forest, through the miles of huckleberries, across the bridges and streams again. I'm not surprised to learn many visitors make a special detour to Boundary County for this purpose. I am here asking you, Senator McClure, to include Long Canyon in the primitive state in your wilderness bill. A favor for Boundary County and the enticement for out-of-State visitors and for all of our grandchildren who would like to be able to walk through an area prim as it was once viewed in the olden days. Thank you.
