Comments:
Mountain Meadows Reservoir is a conservation easement that allows public access. The reservoir went dry in 2015 due to drought and structural problems and CA Department of Fish and Wildlife worked to restore the fishery. Shallow lake where deepest part is 16 feet.

Comments:

August 19, 2003 surveyed only chicks from air and nest/adult #s in Table 3 is estimated from that. No # of chicks provided though. Represents 1% or less of the grebes at the selected sites and 0.1% of the grebes in the Intermountain West (Ivey and Herziger in prep.). Also in Ivey Region 1 Non Game California Waterbird Atlas spreadsheet, did not re-enter.

Comments:

This was a partial survey, the grebes were observed near the dam. Two of the adults had stained plumage that may be indication of exposure to oil spills on the coast. Subsequent reports have their own entries. There is good nesting habitat here and this lake has potential to be a good breeding lake.
