Comments:
Breeding likely in 1953 but no nest count or other confirmation. Historic observation. This and other similar reservoirs in the region nest only when water is high enough to flood the emergent vegetation. In 1957 to 1959, water levels were favorable for nesting. In 1960, water levels were below capacity, nesting habitat was not inundated with water, and though grebes were present, no nesting occurred at the reservoirs in the Fort Collins region.
