Pietro Marchese ritornandosene a Roma potrà ragguagliarvi del mio arrivo in questa città dove mi ritrovo in un convento e mi ci tratterrò finché Dio mi ispiri altrimenti; sarei stata a Nevers con mio fratello e sua moglie se mi fosse stato concesso; ma già che avete mostrato tanta ansietà che fossi fuor di Francia, son venuta in Italia per darvi questa soddisfazione; e per farvi conoscere la mia indifferenza; assicurandovi che in ogni luogo sarò sempre la stessa per voi.

Turin, 26 January 1673
As Pietro Marchese is returning from here to Rome, he will be able to update you on my arrival in this city, where I am in a convent and will stay here until God inspires me otherwise. I would have stayed in Nevers with my brother and his wife if I had been allowed to; but since you were so anxious for me to be out of France, I have come to Italy to give you that satisfaction, and to make clear to you my indifference, assuring you that in every place I will always be the same for you.
