è arrivato alla fine Oliva con la sedia roullante. chè et di molto [di] bon gusto è mi e piaciuta in estremo. fra quatro o sei giorni sara accomodata; quy è passato Monsieur [[d'an]] d'Angeau per andar a modena a persuader la duchessa di modena, da parte de Re, accio si risolva, di dar la figliola al duca d'yorck, come non è che otto giorni che manca dalla corte, gli[ink blot?] o domandato s'aveva inteso dir niente circa la mia venuta, e delle isanse ch avete fatto apresso[[ink blot?]] il Re. mi a risposto non averne nessuna notit[[paper fold hides the end of the word, but the word is presumably "notitia"]]

È arrivato alla fine Oliva con la sedia rullante che è di molto buon gusto e mi è piaciuta in estremo. Fra quattro o sei giorni sara accomodata; qui è passato monsieur Dangeau per andar a Modena a persuader la duchessa di Modena, da parte del Re, acciò si risolva, di dar la figliola al duca di York; siccome non è che otto giorni che manca dalla corte, gli ho domandato se aveva inteso dir niente circa la mia venuta, e delle istanze che avete fatto appresso al Re. Mi ha risposto di non averne nessuna notizia,
perciò io temo che le lettere che avete scritto, se non le avete duplicate con il corriere ordinario seguente, che possano essersi perse; anche perché, ognuno crede che il Re in grazia vostra non mi negherebbe la licenza di ritornare in Francia. Perciò sappiate un poco se sono state rese. Il cardinal d'Estrées ve ne potrà dare qualche avviso. E con questo vi saluto di tutto cuore e resto per sempre tutta vostra

Turin, 5 September 1673
Oliva has finally arrived with the chaise roulante, which is in very good taste and pleased me immensely. In four or six days, it will be fixed up. Monsieur Dangeau came through here on his way to Modena to persuade the Duchess of Modena, on behalf of the King, to resolve to give her daughter to the Duke of York. Given that this is only eight days away from the court, I asked him whether he had heard any talk of my coming there, and of the requests you have made to the King. He replied that he had no knowledge of that,
and so I fear that the letters you wrote, if you did not send them again with the following ordinary courier, may have been lost; also because everyone believes that the King, as a favor to you, would not deny me permission to return to France. So try to find out whether they were delivered. Cardinal d'Estrées will be able to give you some information about it. And with that, I send you my heartfelt best wishes and I remain forever yours entirely.
