Date Created:

Description:
The Idaho Wolf Project has 3 study areas near Salmon, Lowman, and Kellogg, Idaho. The project wants to explore the effects of hunting and trapping on gray wolves in Idaho. So far, hunting and trapping has reduced pup survival by 50%. The Idaho Wolf Project has been genetically sampling wolves in Idaho since 2007, with future plans to assess whether hunting and trapping are affecting wolf behaviors (i.e., propensity to disperse).
