Original Repository Title:
Historic Hole-in-the-Rock in Glen Canyon of the Colorado River, Utah. The narrow notch, showing signs of blasting that in 1880 was necessary to enable 250 Mormon Pioneers, their wagons and stock to descend 1000 feet to the river (tiny triangle in center) and to move on to settle in the area of Bluff. Part of the canyon is under waters of Lake Powell. [Caption given by Josef Muench]
